Chris Argent and Dr. Deaton walk through the woods late in the middle of the night as they carry flashlights and snow begins to fall from the sky.

Deaton: so why are you bringing me here again?

Chris: I wanted to get you here before the authorities showed up

They stop and Chris shines his flashlight down and deaton jumps back as there's a man and a woman laying dead on the ground with huge wooden stakes in their chests

Deaton: this isn't just any regular double homicide is it?

Chris shakes his head and kneels down next to the bodies as deaton does the same

Chris: far from it. You see this...

He grabs the upper lip of the man and pulls it up as he has fangs. He does the same to the woman and she also has fangs

Deaton: they're vampires...someone's killing them

Chris: not killing them....look over there

They stand up and Chris shines his flashlight towards a tree as there's 2 dead deer with bite marks on their necks. The deer are also chained to the tree

Deaton: like bait

Chris: I found 2 other dead vampires deeper into the forest...same circumstances. They're not just being murdered...someone out there is hunting vampires

Suddenly a deer runs out the darkness and runs at them. The two of them jump out the way. Deaton scrambles to get his flashlight then he shines it infront of him and gasps as he sees the Nemeton in the distance. Deaton slowly walks towards the giant tree trunk and notices a strange shade of red on it and a skinny stem with leaves sticking out the center of it



Deaton looks back as Chris walks towards him. Deaton yanks the plant out the Nemeton and tosses it as Chris walks up

Chris: didn't know we were so close to it. It's hard to believe that a place that was made to practice good has brought so much pain and evil to our town. I'm just glad Kate's dead so we don't have to worry about anyone trying to wake this thing up again

Deaton: you don't think someone crazed with power won't try to turn it on?

Chris: you mean like Peter? I think he's got his hands full with you know who

Deaton: they won't be here for another month if they come at all

Chris: you don't know that...my father told me about them...they're worse than the alpha pack

Deaton: they can be...but they're just doing their job.

Chris: is the legend true? That if there's more than one alpha involved with a pack then they make all the alphas in that town fight to the death then the winner gets to control the pack

Deaton: yes the old wives tale is true Chris. If they come here the 6 alphas of Beacon hills will be forced to fight to the death

Chris: Alcide, Peter, Aiden, Ethan, Derek...who's number 6?

Deaton: Esteban...the human alpha

Chris: what?! But he wouldn't last a second against all of them!

Deaton: which is why we need to hope they don't come

Chris: but you knew about this for some time didn't you?

Deaton: I knew over a month ago...right before Kate died.

Chris: that's why you tried so hard to convince Derek to give up his alpha powers to turn off the Nemeton isn't it?

Deaton: I'm his emissary...you think I wanna see him go through the Alpha Trials? like I said let's just hope...let's just hope The Deltas don't come to Beacon Hills

Chris gulps and walks away with Deaton. The Nemeton is shown as another stem with leaves slowly grows out of a crack on the tree trunk
